Holland Taylor’s tweets to Sarah Paulson make up for her Emmys absence
To no one’s surprise, Sarah Paulson won the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or a Television Movie for her uncanny and moving portrayal of Simpson prosecutor Marcia Clark in FX’s The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story. Unfortunately, Sarah’s partner, legendary actress Holland Taylor, couldn’t attend Sunday night’s ceremony, but that didn’t keep the pair from sending sweet messages to each other throughout the day via Twitter. #relationshipgoals
Holland is currently in New York rehearsing for the Broadway revival of The Front Page with Mad Men’s silver fox John Slattery and Broadway standby Nathan Lane. She posted a photo of the loneliest ice cream cone ever to Twitter on Sunday afternoon with the caption, “Feeling deprived in Manhattan.#Emmys …Waaaaaaaaah!@MsSarahPaulson.”

Earlier, Holland posted a photo of Sarah getting prettified for the ceremony with a face mask with the positively aww-inducing caption, “Where pure beauty resides, some efforts are completely superfluous.” Well, damn. Of course, Holland gushed over Sarah’s Prada gown, calling it “glorious.”

While being interviewed before the ceremony by E!’s Giuliana Rancic, the 41-year-old actress made sure to send some love to her 73-year-old partner in the Big Apple, saying “Hi, Holland! If you’re watching, Holland Taylor, I love you.” Holland posted the clip on Twitter with the perfect response, “I’m watching…?? If I’m WATCHING??? YES, I’m watching–!!! good LORD! … I LOVE you!!!”

Later, when Sarah won the Emmy, not only did she deliver a heartfelt apology to Marcia Clark during her acceptance speech, (she later even had Marcia’s name engraved on her Emmy along with her own) she gave a big shoutout to Taylor. Aww, poor Taylor, she wasn’t there to see Sarah win…or even her former Bosom Buddies co-star Peter Scolari win an award for his work on Girls. I would have drowned my sorrows in a soft serve cone too.

Much has been made of the fact that Sarah brought Marcia Clark to the ceremony but she also brought Game of Thrones and Narcos star Pedro Pascal along for the festivities. She tweeted a photo of Pedro scaling a tree before the ceremony and later posted one of the 41-year-old actor munching on one of the sandwiches doled out by the Stranger Things kids. She captioned the snap, “Someone liked the sandwich.” I so want to hang out with this woman – and Pedro and Holland too. Best dinner party ever, am I right?

I think Holland and Sarah are such a great, supportive couple. I can’t even get a guy I like to hit the “like” button on any of my Facebook posts. Sheesh. True love does exist though, somewhere, and I’m glad these two can show me that. Congrats, Sarah!
