Malta | Famous Birthdays

An island country in the Mediterranean Sea, south of Sicily. It consists of three islands: Malta, Gozo, and Comino. It became a British colony in 1813 and became a republic in 1974. 

Trivia

It has two official languages, Maltese and English. It is home to three UNESCO World Heritage Sites including the Megalithic Temples of Malta. After the end of World War II, the whole island was awarded the George Cross medal for bravery.
