Netflix Marmaduke cast, synopsis, release date, trailer and more
Based on the newspaper comic strip of the same name by Brad Anderson, Marmaduke is a computer-animated comedy coming to Netflix on Friday, May 6.
Announced in October 2017, the CGI movie was supposed to be released in 2019 before getting pushed back to 2020. It was delayed again by the COVID-19 pandemic and ultimately Netflix picked it up. The first trailer was released on April 8, 2022.
Saturday Night Live vet Pete Davidson voices the beloved Great Dane in the movie, which is directed by Mark A.Z. Dippé and co-directed by Matt Whelan, Phil Nibbelink and Youngki Lee from a script penned by Byron Kavanaugh. Cartoon Brew reports that the Canada/China/Korea-based Storyberry Inc. handled the animation.
The 2022 film is not the first movie to be made from this IP as 20th Century Fox previously released a hybrid animation/live-action movie starring Owen Wilson, Emma Stone and George Lopez in 2010.
Here’s everything you need to know about the family-friendly comedy.
